Interesting, different or challenging artwork is no problem! Kamaal and Malcolm Washington, sons of Omega7 Publisher Alonzo Washington, created two comic books to help kids deal with diabetes. Gary used bright colors, patterns and select computer effects to enhance the kids' drawings, below. Copyright Omega7. Bottom right: This may not be the slickest project Gary's worked on, but it is the one he is most proud of. America's Forgotten Children is Omega7 Publisher Alonzo Washington's book that helped lead to the identification of "Precious Doe," victim of a brutal 2001 murder that was identified in 2006. The book also helped recover other missing children and Washington began a petition asking the media to give more coverage to missing African-American children. Copyright Omega7. "Alonzo needed this pub on a tight deadline and I pulled a couple of all nighters, trying to clean up some pretty fuzzy photography, staring into the faces of these missing kids, knowing some of them were probably already dead and some would never be found," said Gary. "It was a gut wrenching experience."
